German Shepherd and Rough Collie Breeders in NC?

I am looking to buy Rough Collie and German Shepherd puppies right after Easter, so I thought I'd look around now. The only problem is, the German Shepherds and Collies I have owned in the past were either given to me or I adopted from a shelter. I looked in the shelters first, but they did not have what I was looking for.
What breeders in NC do you recommend? So far I have these two:
http://www.pets4you.com/pages/suescollies.html
http://www.blessedacrescollie.net/
http://www.globalhausgermanshepherds.com/puppies.htm

Please tell me what you think.
I am not looking to show these dogs, just have them as protection/companion animals.

Great choices!! I happen to like both of these breeds and currently own a German Shepherd.
I would recommend contacting the blessed acres collies. The thing that caught my attention was their obvious concern for the health of their dogs. Many purebreds now a days have lots of genetic problems and many of them can be tested for. Good, reputable breeders will have such genetic testing done and will only incorporate healthy, sound dogs into their breeding stock.
The German Shepherd breeder has beautiful dogs. One thing I did notice. When you look at the litters of puppies available, you can click on a link to youtube that shows the cuties in action. If you'll notice mom, she has her front leg shaved. That would indicate she had an IV catheter. It makes me wonder exactly what problem she had. Only the vet could put in a catheter like that. I could not see if she had her belly shaved. This would indicate she had a C-section.
I would just be aware of that and if you did contact them about a pup, ask what was wrong with her. If they skirted around the issue, be Wary!!
This would definitely be a bigger issue if these were show/breeding quality puppies and you might want to use them as breeding stock. Sounds like you are going to be a responsible owner and have them altered and kept as pets only.
Best of luck to you and your search for your next fur kids!!!

I would not touch the Collies from pets4you.com, the fact that they are pictures in fences tied up and they seem to have next to none credentials, is a huge warning sign for me.

If you are getting a Collie, I would get it from Blessed Acres. They look much better.

I cannot see anything too wrong with the Shepherd page, but I would wish to see their males and females to get an idea of what the pups will turn out like. As long as the parents are actually on site, I would say it should be alright.

Good luck with your search.

I wouldn't go to either of those collie breeders, especially the first one (thier dogs barely even resemble collies).

The shepherd breeder looks somewhat better, but I don't like that style of shepherd.

Why not check out the Collie Club of America, and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, and peruse their breeder listings?

I'm shocked that shelters don't have German Shepherds in your area.

I found several.

Keep looking at shelters, as there is some turnover. You can also google Rough Collie Rescues, or Collie Rescues and German Shepherd Rescues.

If you are looking to get them from breeders, the only ones people should ever use are the ones who have Champion dogs. No other breeder should be supported.

Make sure to contact many breeders and ask them all many questions about their breeding program. Get references from others that have bought dogs from them in the past to find out how their experience was with that particular breeder.

Regarding German shepherd, I found on NC breeder on this site: http://www.pets4you.com/germanshepherd.html
